Job summary

Precision Medical Technologies, Incorporated is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee daily production activities and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. The role requires strong leadership, a focus on quality, and a safety-centric approach to sustain high performance.

You will collaborate with Quality and Engineering to sustain a robust QMS, optimize workflows, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years in manufacturing operations, preferably medical devices.
• Proven leadership and staff development ability.
• Strong knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma or similar CI methods.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.
• Evaluate production schedules and allocate staff, equipment, and resources within budget and time constraints.
• Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to maintain a robust QMS and compliance with medical device standards.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives, waste reduction, and setup time optimization.
• Recruit, train, and manage production staff, conduct performance evaluations, and handle disciplinary issues as needed.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality to streamline workflows and resolve production challenges.
• Ensure manufacturing activities comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols.
• Participate in pre-production activities to align with project requirements and objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (essential Functions Of Position)

• Plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing operations to meet production goals for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Evaluate production schedules to make strategic decisions regarding staffing, equipment needs, and resource allocation while adhering to budget and time constraints.
• Collaborate with the Quality Manager and Engineering teams to develop and maintain a robust Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with all dimensional and cosmetic standards at each stage of production.
• Work with Engineers to identify and implement alternative processing methods and continuous improvement initiatives, such as waste reduction and setup time optimization.
• Recruit, train, and manage production employees, conducting performance evaluations, creating development plans, and addressing disciplinary or personnel issues as needed.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality teams to streamline workflows, resolve production challenges, and improve overall operational efficiency.
• Ensure all manufacturing activities comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols.
• Participate in pre-production activities to ensure alignment with project requirements and organizational objectives.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in the medical device or orthopedic industry.
• Strong leadership and team management skills with a proven ability to motivate and develop staff.
• In-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience with Quality Management Systems and regulatory requirements in the medical device industry.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in ERP systems, production scheduling, and data analysis tools.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (not Necessary But Preferred)

• Familiarity with CNC machining, laser marking, welding, and finishing processes.
• Strong knowledge of orthopedic manufacturing processes and industry trends.
