Operations Manager Transportation (Supply Chain/Logistics)

Penske Logistics seeks a proven leader to supervise drivers at one of our locations, providing leadership to ensure customer requirements are met while achieving company goals.

Position Summary:

Lead teams in a dynamic environment, exceed goals, demonstrate commitment to customers, and develop strategic plans. Manage resources to achieve operational excellence, meet financial targets, and foster a safety culture.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (hours may vary).

Salary:

$83,600 - $112,800, bonus eligible up to 30%.

Major Responsibilities:
People:
  • Ensure training and competence of supervisors and associates.
  • Recruit, hire, train, develop, and retain quality staff.
  • Maintain effective communication and motivate the team.
  • Build strong relationships with staff, customers, and departments.
Operations:
  • Meet or surpass customer KPIs.
  • Engage daily with customers to understand needs.
  • Identify operational improvements.
  • Share best practices across sites.
Finance:
  • Develop and execute financial and operational plans.
  • Monitor metrics and P&L, making adjustments as needed.
  • Ensure accurate billing, payroll, and financial activities.
Safety:
  • Promote a safety-first culture.
  • Implement continuous safety improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Coach safety behaviors.
Growth/Customer Experience:
  • Seek continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Track value delivered to customers.
  • Identify profitable opportunities.
  • Use metrics to maximize efficiencies and savings.
Fleet/Assets:
  • Improve fleet utilization and maintenance.
  • Contribute to equipment specifications.
  • Build vendor relationships.
Qualifications:
  • 4-6 years related experience.
  • 3+ years supervisory experience with DOT-regulated roles.
  • High School diploma required; Bachelor's preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and lead process improvements.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel and meet other employment requirements.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to read, communicate, and perform physical tasks as described.
  • Lift/move up to 25 lbs occasionally.
