Job summary

MBC seeks a Senior Operations Manager in the Washington, D.C. area to provide executive support to the Navy program office for Surface Ship Modernization and Sustainment, SEA 21.

You will coordinate operation strategies, policies, and budgets while guiding staff and ensuring timely performance. The role requires extensive Navy experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience providing administrative and executive support to U.S. Navy program offices.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Eligibility to obtain a DOD SECRET security clearance.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
  • Strong verbal and written interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally using a credit card or prepaid debit card as required by MBC and/or clients.

Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a Senior Operations Manager located in the Washington, D.C. area.

What you’ll do:

The Senior Operations Manager will provide administrative and executive support to PAE Maritime/SEA 21, the U.S. Navy's program office for Surface Ship Modernization and Sustainment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate branch or department operation strategies and assist with developing and implementing organizational policies and procedures, as well as attaining operating goals.
  • Ensure work is being completed in a timely manner by assigning or delegating work, objectives, and activities to supervisors and staff, organizing resources, giving work direction, setting deadlines, and coordinating with other departments.
  • Ensure adequate training of staff and employee compliance with the organization’s policies and practices.
  • Analyze costs and prepare department budgets.
  • Plan internal and external engagements, including meetings, conferences, and events.
  • Assist in the development of briefing material and drafting documents in accordance with Navy Correspondence Manual guidelines.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and execute data calls to gather inputs from both internal and external stakeholders. Consolidate and communicate information from data calls to government leadership for further action.
  • Evaluate operational deficiencies, recommend improvements, and coordinate their implementation
  • Transcribe and summarize meeting minutes and notes and assist in the preparation and closure of action items
  • Assist in the scheduling of appointments in support of Government customer, the coordination of arrangements for meetings and conferences, and the arrangement of travel reservations and accommodations
  • Attend meetings and program reviews, assist with compiling presentations, written materials, and/or electronic communications as required
  • Travel domestically and internationally, provide in-person support at MBC and client sites, and obtain and maintain professional certifications and security clearances as required by MBC and/or MBC’s clients. These requirements are subject to change without advance notice at the discretion of MBC and MBC’s clients
