Job summary

American University Hillel is seeking its first Operations Manager to power and oversee essential operational, finance, and facility functions for our new on-campus center in Washington, DC.

You will report to the Executive Director, work closely with staff, and engage with students daily. This is an in-person role with some remote work, requiring limited evening and weekend availability during peak events. Expected start date: January 2027.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in operations, administration, nonprofit management, or related fields.
• Strong technological proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office, customer relationship management systems, and QuickBooks.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first point of contact for inquiries and visitors.
• Maintain organizational calendars, meeting schedules, and facility reservations.
• Identify and manage information technology needs for the organization.
• Manage transition into the new Trone Family Center for Jewish Life, including timelines and coordination with facilities and IT teams.
• Ensure that the Trone Center is a welcoming, attractive, safe, and student-focused space.
• Work with staff to ensure all income and expenditures are correctly handled and documented.
• Provide logistical support for fundraising events and initiatives.
