Job summary

DEMGY Pacific in Tacoma, WA, seeks a manufacturing leader to own the Machining Division, drive Lean initiatives, and improve quality, productivity, and costs. You will lead Supervisors, Leads, Machinists, Operators, and Programmers across all shifts, set strategy, and champion continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading machining or manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated success supervising, developing, and training employees.
  • Strong technical knowledge of CNC machining and production processes.
  • Experience troubleshooting processes to improve productivity, quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems and inventory-control processes.
  • Strong communication, organization, project-management, and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • The confidence to take initiative and make sound decisions under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot machining processes and establish optimal operating parameters.
  • Improve cycle times, yield, part quality, delivery, and production costs.
  • Champion Lean, 5S, Kaizen, automation, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to equipment, technology, processes, and workspaces.
  • Partner with Scheduling, Customer Service, and Shipping to meet customer commitments.
  • Determine appropriate staffing levels and support hiring, performance, and workforce decisions.
  • Strengthen employee capability through training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Manage departmental KPIs, budgets, overtime, work instructions, safety, and documentation.

What You’ll Lead

Reporting to the VP of Operations, you will take ownership of the day-to-day performance of the Machining Division. You will:

  • Lead Supervisors, Leads, Machinists, Operators, and Programmers across all shifts.
  • Troubleshoot machining processes and establish optimal operating parameters.

Compensation And Benefits

Salary Range: $110k - $130k

This is an exempt, onsite position based in Tacoma, Washington. This role may require routinely operating a motor vehicle and lifting or moving up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodation may be provided to enable qualified individuals to perform the essential functions of the position.
