Job summary

CarMax Newark is seeking an Operations Manager in Training to join the store leadership team, guiding Service Operations including reconditioning, cosmetic, production, and automotive service functions.

You will lead multiple managers and frontline staff, own metrics and P&L, drive continuous improvement, and ensure EH&S compliance while coordinating with Sales, Business Office, and Purchasing to deliver an exceptional customer and associate experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of management experience, retail management preferred.
• Ability to interpret and maintain accurate data records.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Lead Service Operations including reconditioning, cosmetic, production, and automotive service functions.
• Directly and indirectly lead multiple managers and frontline staff with staffing, performance management and development plans.
• Own operational execution using KPIs, capacity, quality, cycle time and cost controls.
• Maintain financial accountability including P&L ownership, expense management and labor optimization.
• Champion process improvements and ensure alignment with CarMax standards.
• Oversee Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) program for the department/location.
