Job summary

BENJAMIN STEEL CO is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee branch operations and front office administration. The role carries executive responsibility for safety, customer service and efficiency across warehousing and office functions.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 7+ years in distribution or manufacturing leadership, preferably in the Steel Service Center industry. Strong leadership, planning and systems skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in management or marketing with 7+ years in distribution or manufacturing leadership.
• 5+ years in the Steel Service Center industry preferred; experience in management and operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and healthy working environment with tools and equipment for service delivery.
• Ensure customer service and satisfaction.
• Manage warehouse operations to maximize efficiency, safety and performance.
• Manage office staff to ensure efficiency and adherence to Seven Habits principles.
• Educate, train and develop employees.
• Improve daily business processes (operations & admin) through analysis and collaboration.
• Represent the Company to the market area.
• Partner with IT, HR, Purchasing, Sales, Credit and Accounting to achieve objectives and continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties as related or assigned.

Carries ultimate responsibility for branch / center operations and front office administration.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides a safe and healthy working environment as well as the tools and equipment necessary to service our customers.
• Ensures customer service and satisfaction.
• Manages warehouse operation to maximize operational efficiency, safety and employee performance.
• Manages office staff to ensure efficiency and that the Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teammates are being met.
• Educates, trains, and develops employees.
• Manages and improves daily business processes (operations & administrative) through analysis and collaboration.
• Represents the Company to the market area.
• Partners with support functions (IT, HR, Purchasing, Sales, Credit and Accounting) to achieve objectives and continuous improvement.
• Performs other duties as related or assigned.
• Good attendance is an essential function of this job.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience in management or marketing with a minimum of 7 years of experience in distribution or manufacturing leadership. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Steel Service Center Industry preferred. Experience should include management and operations.
