Job summary

Benjamin Steel Company is seeking an Operations Manager to assume ultimate responsibility for branch operations and front office administration. The role reports to the Director of Operations and requires strong leadership and strategic oversight across warehousing, office functions, and customer service.

The candidate will drive operational efficiency, educate and develop staff, and partner with support functions to achieve continuous improvement and market representation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in management or marketing.
• 7+ years of experience in distribution or manufacturing leadership.
• Minimum 5 years in the Steel Service Center Industry preferred.
• Experience leading and developing teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and healthy working environment and necessary tools/equipment.
• Ensure customer service and satisfaction.
• Manage warehouse operations for efficiency, safety, and performance.
• Lead office staff to ensure efficiency and adherence to best practices.

Carries ultimate responsibility for branch / center operations and front office administration.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Provides a safe and healthy working environment as well as the tools and equipment necessary to service our customers.
• Ensures customer service and satisfaction.
• Manages warehouse operation to maximize operational efficiency, safety and employee performance.
• Manages office staff to ensure efficiency and that the Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teammates are being met.
• Educates, trains, and develops employees.
• Manages and improves daily business processes (operations & administrative) through analysis and collaboration.
• Represents the Company to the market area.
• Partners with support functions (IT, HR, Purchasing, Sales, Credit and Accounting) to achieve objectives and continuous improvement.
• Performs other duties as related or assigned.
• Good attendance is an essential function of this job.

Education And Experience

Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience in management or marketing with a minimum of 7 years of experience in distribution or manufacturing leadership. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Steel Service Center Industry preferred. Experience should include management and operations.
