The UCLA Agile Visual Analytics Lab (AVAL) seeks an Operations Manager to lead administrative, financial, personnel, and event functions in support of its mission. You will manage a portfolio over $20 million, coordinate contracts and grants, and partner with department leadership to implement efficient processes.

The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, is detail‑oriented, and excels in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Experience managing finances and personnel within a university setting.
• Knowledge of procurement, travel, and vendor systems.
• Familiarity with payroll and HR processes in academia.
• Understanding of grants, contracts, and award workflows.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities with discretion and confidentiality.
• Strong interpersonal skills for cross‑office collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial processes for a multi‑million portfolio including contracts and grants.
• Coordinate payroll, procurement, and vendor management across offices.
• Support awards lifecycle from submission to award, with policy compliance.
