• Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations across production, maintenance, quality, shipping and receiving.
• Build, coach and develop production leads and employees.
• Establish clear expectations and foster accountability throughout the operation.
• Ensure production objectives are achieved safely, efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Manage facility budgets, operating expenses, labor hours, overtime and manpower levels.
• Monitor and control premium freight, repair expenses and other operational costs.
• Develop and manage capital plans and capital expenditures.
• Maintain plant equipment and facilities and ensure necessary repairs, replacements and improvements are addressed.
• Champion preventative maintenance programs and equipment reliability.
• Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, workflows and plant organization.

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our manufacturing operation in Madison, South Dakota.

This opportunity comes as our current Operations Manager relocated after 12+ years of leadership at the Madison facility. The next Operations Manager will step into an established operation with the opportunity to build relationships with a strong team, preserve what works well and continue moving the facility forward.

We are looking for a results-driven, hands-on manufacturing leader who enjoys solving problems, developing people and being actively engaged in the operation.

Responsibilities

What You'll Lead

• As Operations Manager, you will have overall responsibility for plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality, shipping and receiving, facility performance and people leadership.
• You’ll partner closely with the VP of Manufacturing and plant leadership team to drive safety, quality, delivery, financial performance and continuous improvement while continuing to build upon the strengths of the Madison operation.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred; however, significant plant leadership experience may be considered in place of a degree.
• Candidates should have approximately five or more years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, ideally including responsibility for multiple areas of plant operations.

Preferred Skills

• Experienced manufacturing leaders who are ready to relocate and make Madison home.

About the Opportunity

• This is a full-time, Monday-Friday leadership position.
• Because manufacturing doesn't happen exclusively between 8:00 and 5:00, the Operations Manager must be willing to adjust their schedule periodically to remain connected with employees and operations across shifts.
• The position includes time both in an office environment and throughout the manufacturing facility.
