Job summary

Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) seeks an Operations Manager A - SES to support the Records/Coding unit, including Re-Evaluation and Mandatory Citation Coding. The role requires supervisory leadership, data analysis, and strong knowledge of relevant statutes and DMV systems.

Qualifications

• Supervisory/management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Code out-of-state dispositions and update driving records.
• Review citation errors and voids; resolve in-state/out-of-state duplicates.
• Coordinate reinstatement dates and record changes as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent in this position is authorized to assist the HSMV Program Manager in all phases of the Records/Coding unit to include managing the Re-Evaluation, Research and Update, Mandatory Citation Coding unit, and Florida State 2 State unit to ensure that all functions of these units are performed in accordance with Florida Statutes and Department policies and procedures. Mandatory Coding Unit, manually, code Out of State Dispositions received from other jurisdictions and manually adds dispositions to driving records from the Florida Mandatory Court Report. Review and process citation errors and voids. Combine Records Unit, combine, merge, and unlick records. They scan out of state dispositions from the Mandatory Coding team. State 2 State team resolves in state and out of state duplicate records, errors due to failed change state of records requests, provide Florida reinstatement dates, update out of state reinstatement dates.

• Knowledge of Citation Inventory System, Comprehensive Case Information System (CCIS), Driver Information and Vehicle Database (DAVID), Motorist Maintenance, and American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA)
• Knowledge of Traffic Statutes (F.S. 316, 318, and 322).

Preferred Qualifications

• Supervisory and/or Management experience.
• Knowledge of Florida Uniform Traffic citations and the Driver and Vehicle Information Database (DAVID)
• Experience testifying in court
• Experience overseeing and reviewing subpoenas.
• Experience managing grants and contracts

Job Related Requirements

• Overnight travel is required.
