Job summary

Virginia Linen Service in Petersburg, VA is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the second shift of our commercial laundry plant. You'll supervise production and distribution for about 30 associates, schedule the shift, and ensure equipment uptime while driving safety and quality.

You report to the Assistant General Manager, hire and train supervisors, and coach frontline teams. This is a hands-on, floor role with extensive people interaction and a focus on meeting daily production goals and

Pay: $75,000 - $85,000 per year

Virginia Linen Service runs a commercial laundry plant in Petersburg that cleans and delivers linens, uniforms, and mats for businesses across Virginia. We need an Operations Manager to run second shift: production and distribution, about 30 associates, and the supervisors who lead them.

This is a floor job. You'll spend about 80% of your shift with your people and your equipment, not behind a desk. You report to the Assistant General Manager and own your shift's results.

What You'll Do

• Run production and distribution on second shift (about 30 associates)
• Build the shift schedule and keep equipment running and staffed
• Hire, train, and develop associates, and coach your supervisors
• Hit daily processing goals while keeping the plant safe
• Track and report efficiency, quality, safety, and labor results to the management team

What You Need

• 2+ years managing a production team in a plant, manufacturing, or distribution operation
• Experience running more than one department or area at the same time
• Availability for 3 PM - 11 PM, with a weekend rotation based on business needs
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. and stay on your feet for most of the shift
• Working knowledge of Excel and Outlook
• A plus: industrial laundry experience or preventive maintenance program experience
