Precision Heating & Air Conditioning in Skokie, IL is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operations for service and installation, and to lead our field team while coordinating with the VP and ownership.

You will implement processes, standards, and KPIs to scale operations and ensure quality, safety, and customer service in healthcare settings. A strong background in commercial HVAC and leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial HVAC/mechanical contracting environment.
• Experience building systems and standards in large, process-driven settings.
• Proven leadership of field technicians and office staff.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC equipment (chillers, boilers, rooftops).
• ServiceTitan or similar field service software experience preferred.
• Must pass a pre-employment background and reference check.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operations across service and installation, including scheduling, dispatch priorities, and daily tasks.
• Oversee and support field technicians, starting with 1–2 direct reports and expanding the team.
• Build and roll out operational processes, standards, and KPIs to scale the company.
• Partner with the VP and ownership on hiring, staffing plans, and growth goals.
• Maintain relationships with long-term commercial and healthcare customers.
• Uphold quality, safety, and customer service standards in occupied healthcare settings.

Description

Precision Heating & Air Conditioning is a 45-year-old commercial and industrial HVAC company based in Skokie, IL, specializing in nursing homes and healthcare facilities across Chicagoland. We are growing fast, with more work than we can take on, and we are hiring an Operations Manager to sit between our service coordinator and our VP, run day-to-day operations, and lead our field team. We are looking for someone who has seen how a larger, well-run shop operates and can bring that structure here: the processes, standards, and accountability that let a strong team scale. We have never had a salesperson and pay no upsell commissions, and 18 to 20 year tenures are common here.

Key Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operations across service and installation, including scheduling, dispatch priorities, and daily to-dos
• Oversee and support our field technicians, with 1 to 2 direct reports to start and the team growing
• Build and roll out operational processes, standards, and KPIs that help the company scale
• Partner with the VP and ownership on hiring, staffing plans, and growth goals
• Use ServiceTitan to manage workflow, job documentation, and performance reporting
• Maintain strong relationships with long-term commercial and healthcare customers
• Uphold quality, safety, and customer service standards in occupied healthcare settings

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Operations, general management, or service management experience at a commercial HVAC or mechanical contractor
• Experience at a larger or process-driven company, with a track record of building systems and standards
• Proven leadership of field technicians and office support staff
• Strong working knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment such as chillers, boilers, and rooftop units
• ServiceTitan or similar field service software experience preferred
• Must pass a pre-employment background and reference check
