Copper State Bolt & Nut Company is seeking an experienced Field Operations Manager to lead operations supporting major customer projects. This is a hands-on field leadership role overseeing people, inventory, material flow, customer commitments, safety, scheduling, and day-to-day operations from site mobilization through demobilization.
This is not a traditional desk-based branch manager position. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in the field, leading teams, managing changing priorities, and making decisions in a fast-paced project environment.
What You'll Do
- Lead field operations from mobilization through daily operations and final demobilization.
- Coordinate site setup, equipment, inventory, technology, security, and material-handling processes.
- Oversee receiving, inventory control, staging, loading, delivery, VMI, kitting, returns, and field issue resolution.
- Maintain accurate inventory across yards, containers, vehicles, staging areas, and customer locations.
- Coordinate customer demand, project schedules, inbound supply, labor, equipment, and material availability.
- Serve as the primary on-site operational contact for customer field teams.
- Lead, schedule, train, coach, and develop Project Materials and Fulfillment teams and temporary/local labor.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with PPE, equipment, traffic control, housekeeping, and security requirements.
- Monitor labor, overtime, equipment, freight, and other project expenses.
- Communicate shortages, risks, schedule changes, and service issues and develop recovery plans.
- Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Safety, Quality, HR, IT, Finance, Integration, and Copper State branches.
- Support inventory transfer, site restoration, and project demobilization.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in field operations, project logistics, materials management, distribution, construction support, military logistics, oil and gas operations, or a related environment.
- Proven experience leading employees and coordinating multiple workstreams in a safety-sensitive operation.
- Knowledge of receiving, inventory control, material handling, staging, delivery, and customer service.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, organization, and decision-making skills.
- Experience with ERP systems, mobile scanners, spreadsheets, reporting tools, and Microsoft applications.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet company vehicle and travel requirements.
- Willingness to work an extended 2-year remote field assignment and travel or relocate to future projects as needed.

- Launching a warehouse, project yard, field base, or temporary operation
- CDL/fleet operations
- Forklift or telehandler operations
- Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, or Power BI
Certifications & Education
- OSHA 30 – Required within 90 days; company sponsored
- Class B CDL – Preferred, not required
- First Aid/CPR – Preferred
- Associate or bachelor's degree in operations, logistics, supply chain, construction management, business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
Compensation & Field Assignment
This is an exempt, salaried position paid bi-weekly.
Performance, project completion, and retention bonuses are available.
The field assignment includes:

The initial assignment is approximately 2 years, with opportunities to extend the project, move to future projects, advance into operations leadership, or transition into a permanent Copper State branch or operations leadership role. Recurring travel and mobility are expected.

This is a field-based position supporting customer jobsites. Work may include outdoor conditions, uneven surfaces, walking and standing for extended periods, and moving between offices, yards, vehicles, containers, and jobsites.
Variable schedules, early starts, occasional weekends, and emergency response may be required based on project needs.
