Job summary

Transdev North America is seeking an Operations Manager to lead Perris Microtransit operations for the Riverside Transit Agency contract. You will supervise microtransit operators, coordinate dispatch and supervision, manage performance metrics, and work with subcontractors to resolve service issues.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years of transit supervisory experience, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain client contact routinely to meet or exceed expectations.
  • Daily, weekly and monthly review of key operational metrics.
  • Work with subcontractors to identify and resolve service issues
  • Oversees scheduling of operators; monitors operations and coordinates delivery of service with superiors.
  • Works closely with the maintenance department to ensure service requirements are met.
  • Tracks, analyzes performance; handles interdepartmental issues; resolves employee issues and grievances; improves processes and route scheduling.
  • Makes hiring decisions for authorized roles; evaluates staff performance; ensures timely completion of tasks.
  • Assists in accident/incident investigation; supports safety and training personnel.
  • Coordinates with safety and training to meet safety goals.
  • Develops the Operations department budget.
  • May operate a vehicle in revenue service, if necessary.

Job description

The Operations Manager reports directly to the General Manager in fulfilling daily operations including but not limited to Microtransit route supervision, staff and operator supervision, effective communication with internal and external customers and coaching employees for optimal performance, managing the entire operation in the absence of the General Manager and Assistant General Manager, complying with all Company policies, and managing the operation within the budgetary plan for the location. This position is based in Perris, CA, in support of the Riverside Transit Agency Microtransit contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervises daily activities of all Microtransit operators and coordinates the activities of supervisors and dispatch personnel.

  • Makes hiring decisions for authorized roles; evaluates the work performance of staff; ensures the timely and efficient completion of all assigned tasks.
  • Assists in accident/incident investigation, including any needed on-site assistance and support to safety and training personnel.
  • Coordinates with the safety and training department to ensure all safety goals and directives are met.
  • Develops the Operations department budget.
  • May operate a vehicle in revenue service, if necessary.
  • Other duties as required.

  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
Physical Requirements
  • Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside; work alone and in remote locations.
  • Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possibly sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
  • Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
  • Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
