About the Role

A rapidly growing logistics company is seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Operations Manager to join its team in the Newark, NJ area. This role plays a critical part in coordinating domestic LTL and FTL shipments, managing airport/CFS pickups, and ensuring on-time delivery and client satisfaction.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee day-to-day domestic freight operations, including LTL, FTL, and last-mile delivery
• Coordinate airport recoveries, CFS pickups, and expedited freight
• Serve as a liaison between internal teams, drivers, and vendors to ensure smooth operations
• Track shipments, troubleshoot issues, and proactively resolve delivery delays
• Leverage logistics software (Sylectus, Descartes, internal TMS systems) to manage tasks and generate reports
• Collaborate with warehouse teams for scheduling and load management
• Support operational site visits, vendor relationships, and occasional travel as needed
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in efficiency, accuracy, and customer service

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in logistics, freight operations, or supply chain management
• Experience coordinating LTL freight or international shipments
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Comfort with fast-paced, multi-tasking environments
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics platforms (TMS)

Preferred:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Familiarity with Sylectus, Descartes, and transportation management systems
• Background in warehouse coordination or freight scheduling
