Position Summary
Enviromatic Systems is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our Building Automation and Controls business. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, supporting project execution, managing field and office personnel, improving profitability, and ensuring exceptional customer service across the organization. The Operations Manager will work closely with executive leadership, project managers, service managers, sales teams, and technical staff to ensure business objectives are met while maintaining a strong culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. This is a leadership role for someone with a proven track record in the Building Automation Systems (BAS), HVAC Controls, Mechanical Contracting, or Commercial Construction industry.
Essential Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership
Lead and manage daily operations for service, project, programming, and controls teams. Develop and implement operational strategies that improve efficiency, productivity, and profitability. Establish and monitor operational KPIs and performance metrics. Identify process improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions. Ensure consistency in project execution, service delivery, and customer experience.
- Team Leadership & Development
Lead, coach, mentor, and develop managers, supervisors, and operational personnel. Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance. Conduct regular performance reviews and support employee development plans. Assist with workforce planning, recruiting, onboarding, and retention initiatives.
- Financial Management
Manage departmental budgets and operational forecasting. Monitor labor utilization, project performance, and gross margin targets. Review project and service profitability and implement strategies for improvement. Partner with leadership to drive revenue growth while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Project & Customer Management
Support project managers and service leaders to ensure successful project delivery. Monitor project schedules, staffing levels, resource allocation, and customer satisfaction. Assist with resolving customer concerns and operational escalations. Maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and business partners.
- Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety requirements. Promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization. Support audits, operational reviews, and compliance initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of leadership experience in Building Automation Systems (BAS), HVAC Controls, Mechanical Contracting, Commercial HVAC, Electrical Contracting, or Commercial Construction operations.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing operational teams, including field technicians, programmers, project managers, service personnel, or similar technical staff.
- Proven experience managing project execution, service operations, workforce planning, and operational performance.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction projects, service operations, and project financials.
- Experience managing departmental budgets, labor utilization, and profitability metrics.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple teams and manage operations across multiple locations or business units.
- Strong knowledge of project management principles, scheduling, resource planning, and operational reporting.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business management software.
Preferred Experience
- Building Automation Systems (BAS) experience.
- HVAC Controls experience.
- Experience with platforms such as Niagara, Distech, Tridium, Alerton, Automated Logic, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Honeywell, or similar controls platforms.
- Experience supporting service, project, and programming teams.
- Experience with ERP, HRIS, project management, and workforce management systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
