OPERATIONS MANAGER To Serve the Medical Device Industry
MANIFEST Technology is hiring an Operations Manager to lead daily operations across manufacturing through shipping. This role is responsible for directing work activities, supervising staff, ensuring appropriate scheduling of people and equipment, and driving achievement of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Cost (SQDIC) goals. The Operations Manager will oversee Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives in partnership with the Engineering team, ensure compliance with all safety regulations, and uphold company policies and procedures. This position will collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders to promote a strong team-oriented culture, sustain operational excellence, and reinforce high-quality standards across the organization.

Pay Range: $120k – $150k/year; W-2; No C2C
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct the work activities of employees and oversee manufacturing processes, including establishing and ensuring SQDIC goals are consistently met.
- Supervise staff and oversee employee management activities, including workforce planning and selection, work planning and direction, coaching, training, and performance management.
- Ensure machines are scheduled appropriately to maximize efficiency and profitability.
- Complete capacity analyses to determine whether the organization can meet future demand and provide recommendations for expanding capacity.
- Prepare capital expenditure requests for equipment needed to support capacity expansion or replacement, including completing CAPEX forms and creating supporting PowerPoint presentations.
- Participate in determining and overseeing all Continuous Improvement (CI) activities for the department, ensuring LEAN principles are implemented to improve work cell performance.
- Enforce compliance with all safety rules and regulations, take prompt corrective action regarding potential safety hazards, ensure required training is completed in a timely manner, and actively participate in monthly safety meetings.
- Enforce company policies and procedures and complete administrative tasks associated with managing people and manufacturing processes.
- Ensure proper inventory levels of tooling and parts are maintained. Oversee manufacturing equipment maintenance in close partnership with the Maintenance Department and ensure material handling equipment is adequately maintained.
- Develop and manage the department budget, including recommending capital equipment purchases, and participate in facilities planning to ensure capacity needs are met.
- Ensure conformance to all applicable local, state, and federal codes; procure and maintain all required licenses, inspection certificates, and related documentation; and review insurance requirements.
- Provide plant-level leadership in support of the Apprenticeship Program, ensuring the program functions properly and adheres to established guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Operations or related field with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience; one of those supervising a staff and overseeing multiple functions in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum eight years’ relevant experience without a bachelor’s degree; two of those supervising a staff and overseeing multiple functions in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading and implementing LEAN manufacturing initiatives.
- Broad knowledge of machining practices and manufacturing processes.
- Strong leadership skills, including coaching, team facilitation, experience utilizing structured problem-solving methods and solid conflict management ability.
- Experience optimizing processes and achieving on-going cost reductions.
- Experience in the high speed of delivery and flexibility of Contract Manufacturing
- Ability to meet the technical qualifications for the role and demonstrate an engaging, outgoing communication style with the ability to build strong working relationships across the organization.
- Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment.
- Experience working within an ISO environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge and experience with precision machining and assembly of complex critical components and processes.
- Experience with ISO 13485 and/or FDA 21CFR820
