Job summary

STS Technical Services in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is seeking an Operations Manager to build scalable production systems and improve visibility across manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage production schedules aligned with operatonal goals and business growth targets.
• Lead the transition from Engineer-to-Order manufacturing toward repeatable and scalable production processes.
• Drive improvements in manufacturing efficiency, cost control and quality.
• Lead day-to-day production operations through an experienced team of production supervisors.
• Provide leadership, coordination and accountability across production activities.
• Collaborate with supply chain, engineering, quality and other internal teams to support production readiness.
• Ensure required resources are available to support production schedules.
• Implement and refine ERP and MRP production planning systems.
• Improve manufacturing workflows and reporting tools.
• Increase visibility and control across production operations.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
• Coordinate material availability, capacity planning and shop floor execution.
• Support operational change as manufacturing requirements scale.
• Promote accountability, operational discipline and innovation throughout the production team.

STS Technical Services is hiring an Operations Manager in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to support a rapidly growing manufacturing operation producing heavy-gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures and modular metal enclosures with integrated electrical distribution and control systems.

This role is designed for an experienced manufacturing leader who can build repeatable production systems, improve operational visibility and help scale manufacturing processes within a growing organization.

Position Overview

The Operations Manager will develop and manage production processes that support continued business growth while improving efficiency, cost control and quality.

This position requires experience in manufacturing operations, production planning and organizational change, along with the ability to coordinate effectively across production, supply chain, engineering and quality teams.

A key focus of the role will be supporting the transition from Engineer-to-Order manufacturing toward more repeatable and scalable production processes.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management or a related field
• At least seven years of progressive experience in manufacturing or production management
• Experience with Engineer-to-Order manufacturing
• Experience with Configured-to-Order manufacturing
• Experience scaling manufacturing operations
• Experience working with ERP systems
• Experience with digital inventory management tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Supply chain experience
• Familiarity with Smartsheet
• Familiarity with Epicor

Work Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to travel between facilities located less than 10 miles apart
• Ability to stand and walk as required
• Ability to lift and handle materials as required
