Job summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for oversight of all aspects of counter sales and warehouse operations, including inventory, product handling, shipping/receiving and personnel management in a friendly, fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a hose fabrication and distribution business.
• Handle a busy counter and manage customer traffic at a quick pace.
• Experience in both industrial and hydraulic hoses.
• Operate operational procedures for hose fabrication in a hose distributor.
• Provide a high level of customer service, ensuring customers leave wanting to return.
• Maintain a strong understanding of inventory and recognize trends to recommend inventory levels at the branch.
• Execute operational production procedures, ensure product quality and safety for customers and staff, and oversee training of team members on hose knowledge, machine and equipment usage, and customer service skills, to ensure branch profitability.
• Open and close the branch daily.
• Manage cash, including bank deposits and petty cash fund.
• Keep the facility organized and clean inside and outside.
• Maintain accurate stock levels, organize bins, and adjust inventory daily.
• Verify receiving reports and adjust inventory accordingly.
• Oversee shipping and receiving to ensure timely delivery.
• Maintain payroll records for HR processing each week.
• Schedule personnel to cover vacations and staffing needs.
• Manage paperwork workflow to meet production schedules and monthly budgets.
• Follow up on quotes to convert them to orders within company margin guidelines.
• Review will call orders daily and contact customers to move product out of the warehouse.
• Ensure building and equipment maintenance is performed regularly.
• Control operational expenses within budgetary guidelines.
