Job summary

MANN+HUMMEL in Florida is seeking an experienced production leader to oversee daily operations and drive lean manufacturing initiatives. The role includes supervising staff, coordinating resources, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards across the plant.

The ideal candidate has a technical engineering background, 5+ years of supervisory experience, and strong cost-control and planning skills toOptimize productivity and meet manufacturing standards.

Job description

Main Tasks
  • Oversees daily production operations to include monitoring cost and effectiveness of the production activities
  • Ensures lean manufacturing, 5S and CI practices are implemented and followed
  • Communicates operational update plans to management team
  • Conducts safety audits and meetings to ensure safe production processes
  • Oversees resource optimization and allocates labor and capital resources to maximize productivity and achieve quality, and manufacturing standards
  • Partners with plant leadership to ensure the full process, from supplier to customer, regarding the quality issues is met
  • Evaluates potential risks, ensures compliance with standards and regulations and provides recommendations
  • Facilitates the audits and regulatory inspections
  • Ensures and maintains of all records as per ISO / TS / EMS Standards
  • Ensures working area is prepared and all technical equipment is set up for the start of production on each shift
  • Ensures all personnel are employed in accordance with the production needs and employees are assigned to positions that match their qualifications; identifies, facilitates and maintains the personnel training needs and development plan
  • Participates in hiring, leads, guides, develops, motivates, disciplines and terminates direct reports within the HR policy ensuring each area is properly staffed
  • Additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • University degree in Engineering or relevant field of technical or business education and experience
  • 5-8 years relevant work experience in the manufacturing industry
  • Min 5 years supervisory or management experience required with the ability to impact and influence a teamStrong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), prior Sage, SAP or MRP experience
  • Understanding of profit and loss calculations and basic business finance, e.g., gross margin percentages and calculations
  • Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on deliverables. Empathic communicator, able to see things from the other person's point of view
  • Possess strategic thinking, planning, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Must be able to work individually and in a team
  • Knowledge of TS 16949 and ISO 14001 requirements
  • Experience in mass production; improving existing production processes
  • Strong understanding of safety requirements
  • Bilingual English / Spanish a plus
  • Must be able to read, understand and comply with written and verbal instructions, company processes and procedures and safety policies
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical equipment such as forklifts and other machinery. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
