Job description

Commercial Door LLC is a commercial door, dock equipment, and industrial service company built on trust, craftsmanship, and accountability. We're looking for an Operations Manager to take full ownership of our service center, not just keep it busy, but make it run with purpose.

This isn't a role for someone who wants to manage from behind a desk. It's for a field-focused leader who opens the building in the morning, knows what every technician is working on, removes roadblocks fast, and makes sure every job is scheduled right, done safely, documented, and billed.

What you'll own

  • The whole operation. Scheduling, dispatch, staffing, parts, vendors, tools, vehicles, and the daily execution of every job in the branch.
  • The numbers. Branch revenue, labor recovery, effective labor rate, gross margin, WIP, and billing readiness. You'll review them weekly and improve them over time.
  • The team. Coach technicians up, develop their skills, hold them accountable — and make the hard personnel calls when needed. You'll also manage the Service Coordinator and own onboarding for new hires.
  • Safety. Weekly safety training, daily enforcement, and immediate correction of anything unsafe tools, equipment, behavior, or conditions.
  • The customer relationship. Resolve issues directly, protect long-term relationships, support quoting and bids, and help the branch win work.

Who thrives here

  • 5+ years leading operations in field service, construction, industrial service, or similar — commercial door, dock, or material handling experience strongly preferred
  • Prior field technician experience is a big plus; you should be able to help a stuck tech troubleshoot
  • Direct but respectful. You coach people up, document when needed, and protect the standard without drama
  • Organized, calm under pressure, and comfortable with service software, reporting tools, and mobile documentation
  • You take ownership of problems without blame-shifting — full stop

What we offer

  • $85,000–$130,000 base salary, commensurate with experience
  • Performance bonus tied to branch results, revenue growth, labor recovery, safety, and team development
  • Competitive and Comprehensive Benefits
  • 401K Matching at 5%
  • Take-home vehicle
  • A leadership seat in a growing company where operations are treated as the backbone of the business, not an afterthought

We hire leaders who take ownership, protect the standard, and deliver results.
