Job Summary

The Operations Manager plays a vital role in overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day logistics operations within an organization. Responsible for managing and coordinating the movement of goods, ensuring efficient inventory management, and maintaining a smooth supply chain. Additionally, leads a team of logistics professionals, implements strategies to improve operational efficiency, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to achieve organizational goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all aspects of logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and order fulfillment.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize the supply chain, improve operational efficiency, and reduce costs.
• Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and logistics service providers to ensure timely and costeffective transportation and delivery of goods.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and adherence to quality and safety standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as procurement, sales, and customer service, to ensure alignment and efficient coordination.
• Lead, train, and develop a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Utilize the warehouse management systems (WMS) to track and manage inventory, shipments, and order fulfillment processes.
• Ensure compliance with local, regional, and international regulations and customs requirements.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and technological advancements to enhance logistics operations.
• Stay informed about market trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
• Manage logistics budgets, forecasting, and financial performance, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• Direct supervision of the Warehouse Supervisors.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Proven experience in logistics operations, preferably in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of logistics operations, supply chain management, and transportation strategies.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop employees.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
• Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and customs requirements.
• Ability to adapt to a fast‑paced and dynamic business environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and implement best practices in logistics operations.
• Able to lead salaried/exempt positions in multi‑shift operation with > 50 employees.
• Proficiency in using computer systems and software, including MS Office Suite.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in a warehouse environment.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management Business Administration, or related field required.
• A minimum of four years of experience in Operations Management required.

Physical Requirements

• Periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Standing and Walking: The role requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods as to navigate the warehouse floor and moves between different areas of the facility.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
• Safety Awareness: Should be mindful of safety procedures and have a strong awareness of potential hazards in the warehouse environment.
