Position Overview

This position directs the day‑to‑day operations of the facility in an industrial organization. It manages local scheduling and real‑time operations that facilitate the maximization of resources (human and automated) to achieve customer satisfaction, productivity, schedule adherence, and economic goals.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties
  • Prepare operational schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
  • Evaluate production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan facility operations.
  • Maintain production efficiencies and scrap minimization and is responsible for scrap reduction.
  • Report and team efforts to reduce scrap and increase efficiencies.
  • Direct and coordinate production processes and operational functions to all performance and safety standards to achieve goals and optimal production performance.
  • Oversees the functions of all production activities on the respective shift to ensure compliance to
  • Assist in directing plant activities to achieve optimum utilization of machinery and equipment and maximum efficiency of operations.
  • Recommend capital improvements to the plant that result directly in improved safety conditions, improved quality of finished product, resulting in value‑added, improved efficiency, or reduction of plant variable or fixed operations costs.
  • Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and observe to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Resolve operational, manufacturing, and delivery problems.
  • Communicate areas of accountability and performance expected of personnel assigned.
  • Responsible for monitoring and ensuring positive overall morale of the facility.
  • Keeps informed of technical and management developments to ensure continued personal growth and to coach employees toward optimum performance.
  • May be assigned special projects by the Plant Director.
Managerial Responsibilities
  • Manage the departmental manager(s) who in turn supervise department personnel of the facility. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the facility.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities also include interviewing, addressing complaints, problem solving, and coordination of the financial and political responsibilities of the plant.
Education, Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Management, or equivalent.
  • Eight to ten or more years of related experience or the combined equivalent.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, forecasting, scheduling, real‑time operations management and coordination of people and resources.
  • Ability to write and analyze reports, and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond in group environments.

Pay Transparency Addendum

The pay range for the above‑referenced position is determined by taking into account many factors such as experience, qualifications, certifications, skills, education, and other business‑related factors. Salary decisions are based on each job. A reasonable estimate of the salary range: $156,000 - $166,000.

Compensation

The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $129,200 to $161,500; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range $129,200 to $193,800 depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on national averages and a geographic differential may be applied based on work location. Position may also be eligible for Amcor’s Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.
