Job summary

Georgia-Pacific in Corrigan, TX is seeking an Operations Manager to lead safety, performance, and team development at our plywood manufacturing facility. You will drive continuous improvement, champion PBM principles, and align operations with company goals.

You will manage budgeting, forecasting, and data-driven decisions, mentor a high-performing team, and implement reliability initiatives to optimize production and value creation for the business.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of supervisor manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Cultivate a culture of respect, safety, ownership, continuous improvement.
  • Experience managing production operations and driving improvements in safety, quality, productivity, reliability, and cost.
  • Experience using data and KPIs to make business decisions including budgeting and forecasting.
  • Experience leading changes, improving employee engagement, and holding teams accountable for results.

Responsibilities

  • Champion a culture of injury-free, incident-free operations by modeling and reinforcing PBM principles.
  • Optimize production processes using the MPO Process System for efficiency and value creation.
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing operations team with regular performance reviews and change management.
  • Oversee facility financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and strategic reviews; use data to drive decisions.
  • Utilize Disciplined Operations, RCA, and preventive/predictive maintenance to identify opportunities and implement solutions.
  • Build a culture of ownership by recognizing contributions and ensuring accountability at all levels.
  • Fully utilize work process systems to develop job plans, monitor completion, and promote proactive maintenance.

What You Will Do
  • Champion a culture of injury‑free, incident‑free operations by modeling and reinforcing Georgia‑Pacific’s Consistently apply PBM® principles in all aspects of operations.
  • Optimizeproductionprocesses using the Machine Paced Operation (MPO)Process System. Strive for efficiency, reliability, and maximum value creation for the business.
  • Develop and mentor a high‑performing operations team. Facilitate team growth, conduct regular performance reviews, and manage change to ensure team alignment and engagement.
  • Oversee facility financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and strategic reviews. Use data to drive business decisions and achieve key performanceobjectives.
  • Utilize Disciplined Operations, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and preventive/predictive maintenance planning toidentifyopportunities and implement solutions.
  • Build a culture of ownership by recognizing contributions, addressing missed opportunities, and ensuring accountability at all levels.
  • Fullyutilizeworkprocess systems to develop job plans,monitorcompletion, andpromoteproactive maintenance and reliability initiatives.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Five (5) or more years of supervisor manufacturing leadership experience in a plywood, wood products, paper, or other heavy industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate a culture of respect, safety, ownership, continuous improvement, and employee development while leading salaried and hourly teams.
  • Experience managing production operations and driving improvements in safety, quality, productivity, reliability, and cost.
  • Experience using data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to make business decisions and achieve operational objectives to include knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance management.
  • Experience leading changes, improving employee engagement, and holding teams accountable for results.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Two (2) or more years’ experience as a department manager in a plywood or wood products manufacturing facility.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, business, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Disciplined Operations, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and process optimization.
