Diamond Peak Recruiting is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead commercial roofing operations in the Pittsburgh market. You will oversee field crews, project managers, and safety compliance to deliver profitable, on-time projects.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in commercial roofing or exterior building envelope construction, strong leadership, budgeting, scheduling, and client-relations skills, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in commercial roofing operations or construction management.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and budgets.
• Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of roofing systems (TPO/EPDM/PVC/metal).
• Willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations for commercial roofing projects from pre-construction through completion.
• Manage project managers, superintendents, field crews, subcontractors and staff.
• Ensure projects are on schedule, within budget and meet quality standards.
• Drive scheduling, workforce planning and production efficiency.
• Monitor labor, materials, forecasting and profitability.
• Collaborate with estimating and sales during handoffs and execution.
• Maintain client/vendor relationships and ensure safety compliance (OSHA).
• Recruit, train and mentor team members; support strategic growth in the region.

Operations Manager – Commercial Roofing Construction

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Compensation: Up to $150,000 Base Salary + Bonus + Benefits

About The Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and oversee commercial roofing operations in the Pittsburgh market. This leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, managing field production teams, ensuring project profitability, maintaining safety compliance, and delivering exceptional customer satisfaction across multiple commercial roofing projects.

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership experience within commercial roofing or exterior building envelope construction and has a proven ability to manage crews, schedules, budgets, and client relationships in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations for commercial roofing projects from pre-construction through completion
• Manage project managers, superintendents, field crews, subcontractors, and support staff
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards
• Drive operational efficiency, workforce planning, and production scheduling
• Monitor project financials including labor costs, materials, forecasting, and profitability
• Collaborate with estimating and sales teams during project handoff and execution
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, consultants, and subcontractors
• Enforce OSHA compliance and company safety standards across all job sites
• Resolve operational challenges and support continuous improvement initiatives
• Assist with recruiting, training, mentoring, and performance management of team members
• Participate in strategic planning and growth initiatives for the regional operation

Qualifications

• 5+ years of leadership experience in commercial roofing operations, construction management, or related field
• Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems including TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen, and metal roofing
• Proven experience managing multiple concurrent commercial construction projects
• Strong understanding of project budgeting, scheduling, labor management, and safety compliance
• Ability to lead teams and build a positive accountability-driven culture
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale commercial or industrial roofing projects
• OSHA 30 Certification
• Knowledge of union and non-union workforce environments
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred
