Job summary

Trulite Glass & Aluminum Solutions is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Manager for our Cheswick, PA plant. This role leads plant operations, directs production, sales, maintenance, quality, and shipping, and carries P&L responsibility for the location.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, including Lean methods, ERP/MIS proficiency, and strong financial acumen. Union plant experience is a plus; excellent communication is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree plus 10 years general management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in architectural glass and aluminum, construction, building materials, precast, or metal fabrication preferred.
  • Prior P&L responsibility and experience highly preferred.
  • Union plant experience highly preferred.
  • Must understand financial statements and be skilled in making business decisions based on financial data.
  • Lean manufacturing methods and continuous improvement experience required.
  • Ability to lead a diverse workforce and meet aggressive financial and cultural goals.
  • Strong follow through and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience with manufacturing software, ERP, and core MS Office; advanced Excel preferred.
  • Leadership, mentoring and employee development skills are essential.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments.
  • Proven results in plant recovery and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Directs branch operations for production, sales, maintenance, quality, and shipping and receiving.
  • Has P&L responsibility for branch; ensures financial goals are met.
  • Implements cost effective systems over capital, expenditures, workforce, wages and labor usage.
  • Directs and monitors overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
  • Controls labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses.
  • Oversees maintenance of facilities and equipment; plans upgrades when needed.
  • Provides leadership and training to achieve company goals.
  • Develops and guides plant manager, sales manager and other leaders.
  • Ensures safety conditions for OSHA compliance and minimizes injuries.
  • Regularly communicates with senior management and support functions.
  • Other duties as required.

Manufacturing Operations Manager

Truliteis GROWING! We are seeking a Manufacturing Operations Manager for our plant located in Cheswick, PA.

The Operations Manager is responsible for overall plant operations, leading direct and indirect subordinates in the facility and must carry management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. The Operations Manager has overall P&L responsibility for the branch location.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Communicates theTrulitestrategic vision to the Branch Management team.
  • Directs branch operations for production, sales, maintenance, quality, and shipping and receiving.
  • Has P&L responsibility for branch and ensures that financial goals are met.
  • Implements cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, workforce, wages, and effective use of labor.
  • Directs andmonitorsoverall plant performance for production and quality standards through branch leadership team.
  • Controls and minimizes labor overtime, premium freight, and repair expenses.
  • Directs the maintenance of existing plant facilities and equipment; replace ormake adjustments to plan facilities and equipment when necessary.
  • Provides leadership and training toaccomplishthe company goals andobjectives.
  • Provides direction, development and leadership to plant manager, sales manager, and other leadership positions.
  • Directs theappropriate safetyconditions to ensure full OSHA compliance and to reduce the incidence of work-related injury to employees.
  • Communicate regularly with senior management and support functions.
  • Other duties asrequired.
Skills You Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university highly preferred; plus 10 years general management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior architectural glass and aluminum, construction, building materials, precast, or metal fabrication industry experience.
  • Prior P&L responsibility and experience highly preferred.
  • Prior union plant experience highly preferred.
  • Must understand financial statements and be skilled in making business decisions based on financial data.
  • Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures including Lean manufacturing techniquesrequired.
  • Must have the demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse work force to meet aggressive financial and cultural expectations.
  • Must have excellent follow through and communication skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments.
  • Excellent communication skillsrequiredboth verbally and in writing.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of general Manufacturing software, ERP software and core Microsoft office suite software, Excel,Wordand PowerPoint. Advanced excel knowledge preferred.
  • Must have strong leadership, mentoring and employee development skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments.
  • Musthave resultsproven experience with plant recovery processes and continuous improvement processes.
  • Bilingual a plus (Spanish & English)
