Job summary

MedSpeed is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee daily operations of a healthcare transportation network in Virginia, with travel to Richmond 2–3x per week. You will lead Logistics Service Representatives, manage client relationships, and drive service quality and profitability.

The role emphasizes safety, data accuracy, and cross-functional collaboration. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, 3–5 years in logistics or management, and strong leadership,

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Operations, Supply Chain or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Logistics Service Representatives, including recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management.
  • Monitor service quality and efficiency via daily observations and performance reports.
  • Perform route observations to ensure safety and compliance and identify improvements.
  • Maintain accuracy of route, client and variable stop data.
  • Maintain positive client relationships through regular communication and prompt issue resolution.
  • Promote a safe, clean work environment and ensure compliance with policies.
  • Coordinate vehicle maintenance and vendor repairs, maintaining history logs.
  • Support projects to improve operational efficiency and service quality.
  • Handle other duties as assigned and foster MedSpeed culture.

Our Operations Manager role is responsible for the daily operation of a healthcare transportation network, including supervision and coaching of Logistics Service Representatives, management of client relationships, and attainment of location service quality and profit objectives.

How you Will Contribute:
  • Overall leadership of Logistics Service Representatives, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management and development
  • Manage service quality and efficiency through daily observations, monitoring of exception and performance reports and follow up coaching
  • Perform Logistics Service Representative route observations to ensure compliance with safety, client and operational procedures and identify improvement opportunities
  • Ensure accuracy and ongoing system maintenance of route, client and variable stop data
  • Maintain positive client relationships through regular communication and prompt resolution of service exceptions
  • Establish and maintain a clean, safe work environment and ensure compliance with company’s Making Every Day Safe policy
  • Review daily vehicle pre/post trip inspection checklists, coordinate repairs and maintenance with vendors and maintain maintenance history file
  • Assist operations team with projects to improve operational efficiency and service quality
  • All other job-related duties as assigned
  • Work to promote MedSpeed team culture
Skills for Success:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Operations, Supply Chain Management or related field
  • 3-5 years logistics or transportation work experience preferred, or 3+ years management experience preferred
  • Successful experience applying quality management principles
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication, strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer relation skills, demonstrated ability to interact with key decision makers
