This role leads day-to-day operations across inventory, warehouse, fleet, facilities, and equipment to keep projects moving safely and on schedule. Key duties include planning/scheduling, auditing and restocking inventory, preparing material and equipment orders, coordinating deliveries/receiving, and maintaining accurate records (Fleet, DOT, equipment check out/in, timecards in CE Field, AP paperwork, and vendor files). The role oversees fleet maintenance and compliance (inspections, service, GPS, fuel cards, express toll, DOT items), ensures safe operation and training for equipment, and supports facility upkeep and safety programs. It also partners with PMs, Superintendents, accounting, manages vendor relationships, and drives clear, timely communication to resolve issues quickly.
OUR CORE VALUES
Everything we do at Black Roofing is grounded in five core values. As Production Manager, you are expected to live these daily and reinforce them through your leadership:
We take full ownership of outcomes. No blame shifting. No gaps in follow-through. As the leader of production, you are accountable for job performance across all Superintendents, crews, schedules, and results.
We build it right—the first time. Quality is not a goal; it is the standard. You are responsible for ensuring every job reflects pride in workmanship, attention to detail, and minimal rework or punch-list items.
We win together. Production only works when field, office, warehouse, and leadership operate as one team. You are responsible for aligning Superintendents and removing barriers so crews can perform at their highest level.
We do what we say we are going to do. We communicate honestly, lead transparently, and make decisions that protect the customer, the team, and the company, especially when it’s not easy.
We don’t accept “this is how it’s always been done.” We are always improving systems, communication, scheduling, production efficiency, and team development. You are expected to challenge the status quo and raise the standard.
