Big C Lumber is seeking an Operations Manager for our Adrian, MI lumber yard. This full-time role offers a salary of $60,000–$70,000 based on experience, with bonus potential.

Responsibilities include personnel management, processing freight documents, and maintaining yard organization. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 3 years in the industry, and may need CDL‑B eligibility. CDL not always required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; CDL B if required.
• 3 years of experience in the building materials/industrial sector preferred.
• Able to operate in a fast-paced yard environment and manage personnel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee yard operations and supervise staff
• Process invoice delivery tickets and transfer documents
• Ensure accuracy of all inbound and outbound freight
• Maintain a clean and well-organized yard
• Receive materials and coordinate loading/unloading of trucks
• Support training and development of yard personnel

YARD MANAGER

Big C Lumber is currently seeking an Operations Manager for our Adrian, MI lumber yard. This is a full-time position with benefits, annual salary between $60,000-$70,000 based on experience, plus bonus potential.

Yard Manager Essential Functions:

• Personnel management and training
• Invoice delivery tickets and transfers
• Ensure accuracy of all incoming and outgoing freight
• Maintain a clean and well-organized yard
• Receive all materials
• Aid with loading and unloading trucks

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to obtain CDL B if needed
• 3 years' experience in industry preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Self-motivation, leadership skills, team player
• Ability to accurately and rapidly meet deadlines
• Above average knowledge of equipment and materials
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 80lbs
• Ability to stand and sit for long periods of times
• Ability to withstand prolonged exposure to harsh and extreme weather conditions
• Ability to coordinate as well as work in a team
• Ability to adapt to in-house software
• Basic computer skills and knowledge
