Join our Operations Management Trainee Program and build a strong foundation for a successful career in the scrap metal and recycling industry.

The Operations Management Trainee will participate in a structured, hands-on, rotational training program designed to provide comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in the scrap metal and recycling industry. This role is ideal for recent two-or-four-year college graduates who are eager to develop their skills and grow into leadership positions within the industry. Over the course of the program, trainees will rotate through multiple departments, gaining exposure to operations, sales, logistics, compliance, and more. This broad exposure is intended to equip participants in the program to gain a familiarity with each area of the EMR business. It is expected that the trainee will understand the crucial interdependencies between each of the departments that make EMR a success.

What You’ll Do:

  • Operations: Learn material processing, inventory management, and workflow optimization
  • Commercial: Work with suppliers and customers, analyze market trends, and negotiate pricing
  • Logistics: Coordinate transportation, troubleshoot logistical challenges, and optimize efficiency
  • Environmental & Compliance: Gain exposure to regulations, sustainability initiatives, and audits
  • Health & Safety: Learn and enforce workplace safety protocols and conduct safety audits
  • Financial Management: Understand budgeting, cost control, and key performance metrics
  • Leadership Development: Participate in training workshops and lead improvement projects

What You Need to Succeed:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Enthusiasm for hands-on work in an industrial setting
  • Willingness to relocate or travel for rotational training if needed

What to Expect:

  • Indoor and outdoor work environments in and around Camden, NJ
  • Varied hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends
  • Physical activity, including lifting up to 70 lbs, working with machinery, and using tools
  • Travel may be required, with access to a personal vehicle needed
