Tyson Foods is seeking an Operations Management Trainee (OMT) to support day-to-day production and performance through data-driven decision making. This developmental role leverages independent judgment and cross-functional collaboration to identify opportunities and drive improvements, building leadership capability for future supervisory positions.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree or higher, exposure to manufacturing environments, and strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher in a related field or equivalent experience (1 year)
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree
• Fields: Operations, Agriculture, Animal or Poultry Science, Food Science
• Exposure to production/manufacturing environments through work or school projects
• Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical thinking

Responsibilities

• Analyze performance results to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
• Recommend improvements in safety, quality, yield, and efficiency
• Troubleshoot operational issues and propose solutions
• Partner with HR, Maintenance, FSQA, and Accounting
• Lead teams or processes as needed (line coverage, projects)
• Support supervisors and managers with data and recommendations
• Monitor compliance and elevate risks when needed
• Support planning for staffing, production flow, and resources
• Drive continuous improvement (cost savings, waste reduction)
• Build knowledge of equipment, processes, and systems
