Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a trainee for our production facility to learn all aspects of operations and safety. You will observe how the area runs at peak capacity, coordinate with maintenance, and learn to ensure equipment complies with government regulations while supporting quality and timely production.

The program prepares you for supervisory responsibilities over a defined area, with emphasis on interactions across Accounting, Human Resources, Food Safety, Quality Assurance and Production.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: 1+ year in live swine production.
  • Communication: bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Computer: basic computer skills.
  • Travel: valid driver’s license required.
  • Biosecurity: showering before entering facility; follow Animal Welfare Policy.
  • Physical: lift up to 25 pounds; PPE provided.

Responsibilities

  • Learn all aspects of a Production facility and promote a safe working environment.
  • Observe and learn how to run the area at max capacity with high quality.
  • Work with Maintenance and other resources to ensure equipment is functional and compliant.
  • Learn to perform first aid when nurse is not present.
  • Assist supervisors and managers as needed; prepare for potential supervisory role.
  • Understand interactions between Accounting, HR, Food Safety, QA and Production.
