Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking an O&M Tech I to operate and maintain equipment at a chemical/industrial facility, ensuring water purification to customer specs. The role requires learning and independently running pumps, engines, centrifuges, and related systems while performing basic math and safety tasks.

You will work outdoors in varying weather and participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation. Education includes a High School Diploma or GED with preference for related experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to read, write and comprehend English and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain de-watering treatment, processing, disposal and testing equipment.
• Learn and independently operate pumps, engines, centrifuge, generators, valves and related equipment.
• Work outdoors in inclement weather.
• Support safety and quality targets and participate in on-call rotations.

Job Description

Position Purpose:

The O&M Tech I operates and maintains equipment, de-watering treatment, processing, disposal and testing equipment in chemical/industrial facility to purify water to meet customer specifications.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

• Some experience in a related position and environment preferred.
• Must consistently demonstrate the ability to learn and independently operate assigned machines and
• equipment meeting or exceeding processing and quality targets.
• Must demonstrate ability to learn and independently operate equipment such as pumps, engines, centrifuge, generators, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed, odor control, disinfection equipment, sludge processing filters, belt presses and measuring/control devices, testing equipment and material handling equipment.
• Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
• Job will require working outdoors in inclement weather conditions.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Some experience in a related position and environment is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Must demonstrate a working ability to use computer programs for process control.
• Must be able to serve rotational 24 hour emergency on-call if required by site.
• Must be able to pass a drug test and a criminal background check.
• Must have the ability to read, write and comprehend English (operational, process, safety, and quality instructions). Must have the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Must demonstrate the abilityto work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.

Required Certification/Licenses/Training:

• Must possess a valid drivers license and a safe driving record.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 40-50/Lb. bags while loading material in tanks.
