Job summary

Ally Waste Services is seeking a hands-on problem-solver to join our Operations team. No professional experience required; we’ll train you to keep our equipment and properties running smoothly.

You’ll work across properties, perform repairs, and learn fleet software such as Fleetio and GPS tracking tools. A valid driver’s license and a DOT medical exam may be required as you travel to fleet locations and perform maintenance.

Qualifications

• No professional experience required, just hands-on problem-solving aptitude.
• Comfortable with computers (email, data entry) and quick to learn new tools.
• Able to pass a DOT medical certification exam and pre-employment drug screening.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair equipment across properties (dumpster wheels, doors, chutes, etc.).
• Install equipment in warehouse or field as needed.
• Track truck inspections and repairs using Fleetio.
• Perform maintenance on trucks/trailers (brakes, electrical, lighting, tires).
• Coordinate with operations to schedule maintenance.
• Drive trucks to repair shops when needed.
• Travel to fleet locations for inspections and repairs.
• Assist vendors with property damage repairs and installations.

We're looking for a hands-on problem-solver to join our Operations team, keeping our properties and equipment running smoothly.

No professional experience required! If you have a passion for fixing things and are comfortable using a computer, we'll teach you everything else you need to know.

What You'll Do:

You'll work alongside our Operations team to keep equipment and properties running smoothly. We'll train you on all of these tasks:

• Maintain and repair equipment across our properties (dumpster wheels, property access doors, chute doors, and more)
• Install equipment in the warehouse or out in the field as needed
• Track truck inspections and repairs using our fleet software (Fleetio)
• Perform maintenance and repairs on trucks and trailers, including trailer-specific repairs (brakes, electrical, lighting, structural):
  • Replace lights on vehicles
  • Check and inspect tires
  • Install and troubleshoot GPS tracking units (Samsara)
  • Ensure safety equipment is working properly
  • Test vehicle operations
• Coordinate with our operations team to schedule maintenance
• Drive trucks to and from repair shops when needed
• Travel to fleet locations and properties across our markets to perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs
• Assist vendors with property damage repairs, including vehicle accidents and warehouse damage
• Support special projects and installations across our markets (like MRFi and Green Bag programs)

Requirements

• You enjoy hands‑on work - maybe you fix things around the house, on vehicles, work on DIY projects, or just like figuring out how things work
• You're comfortable with computers - you'll use email, enter data into our systems (including Fleetio, our fleet software), and learn new tools as needed (we'll train you)
• You pay attention to details and take pride in doing things right
• You're a self‑starter who can work independently
• You have a valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
• High School Diploma or GED
• You're able to pass a DOT medical certification exam and a pre‑employment drug screening
