Operations Maintenance Mechanic (Maintain and repair production equipment in a food manufacturing facility)
Location: Bolingbrook, IL
Pay: $30+ per hour (based on experience)
Shift: Night Shift 5am-5pm
Role Summary:
Randstad is seeking an Operations Maintenance Mechanic to join our client’s food manufacturing facility in Bolingbrook, IL. This role involves supporting production by maintaining and repairing mechanical, electrical, and automated equipment while ensuring safety standards and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate degree or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Experience working with PLCs, vision systems, and electrical components (480V systems).
- Proficiency in pneumatics, mechanical schematics, and electrical diagrams.
- Familiarity with CMMS, L2L, and Google Suite preferred.
- Must be able to work in varying temperature conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work at heights using ladders and aerial work platforms.
- Experience in food manufacturing or processing is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Capable of climbing ladders and performing physical tasks throughout the shift.

Salary & Schedule:
- Salary: $58,000 - $77,000 per year
- Shift: Third (5 PM - 5 AM)
- Work hours: 5 PM - 5 AM

Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance and daily maintenance tasks on production machinery.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot automated equipment, including PLCs and vision systems.
- Perform mechanical repairs and troubleshoot issues with 480V systems and pneumatics.
- Read and interpret mechanical and electrical diagrams, repair manuals, and schematics.
- Assist with HAZMAT team activities and comply with safety standards.
- Operate material handling tools and lifts as needed.
- Visually inspect and test equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Working in a smoke-free environment.
- Wearing steel toe shoes.
- Manual lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Standing for 8 hours at a time.
- Working up to 10 hrs of overtime per week.
- Working weekends.
