Job Title: O&M Manager
O&M manager for the San Jacinto Plant, will need to think strategically, creatively, and proactively about the plant and the direction the plant is going. Coordinate, oversee plant operations activities and implementation of efficient and cost-effective systems to meet the current and future needs of the plant. Have a good understanding of the ERCOT market, NERC reporting, GADS and our work management process. Requires the ability to edit GADS, work in and develop spreadsheets and PowerPoints.
Responsible for all aspects of Plant Operation and Maintenance, including the work management process. Responsible for plant safety, environmental compliance, policy administration and has purchasing authority for required materials and services. Maintain a good working relationship with the plant staff and peers. Responsible for supporting and executing a safe and reliable operation of the plant to ensure reliable steam delivery to our steam host.
Responsibilities:
Supports and emphasizes importance of safety and environmental programs and ensures regulatory compliance
Evaluate the performance of the plant in meeting goals/objectives to determine where cost can be reduced, what can we improve and what should we change
Promotes productivity and teamwork with open communication, timely decision making, and use of leadership skills to set high standards of performance, while providing the direction necessary to achieve performance
Responsible for ensuring reliable steam delivery to the steam host
Provides regular feedback to the plant manager on unit performance.
Creates and supports an organizational culture that encourages and rewards employee involvement, innovative thinking, adaptation to change, responsible risk taking, customer focus, and continuous improvement
Formulates appropriate strategies which supports the overall NRG strategy and manages development, implementation, and execution of assigned area goals, objectives, and initiatives
Manages all business aspects of assigned area to maximize competitive position of the plant including operational performance, staff development and cost management
Assigns work and holds employees accountable for their performance
Develops and maintains professional relationships with organizations external to the plant (LaPorte Rail and Terminal)
Ensures that appropriate technical expertise related to assigned area of responsibility is available and provided to constituents in a timely manner.
Manages development and execution of appropriate standards, guidelines, programs, and procedures within assigned area of responsibility
Seeks and understands the organizational needs and focuses on meeting and exceeding these requirements
Anticipates, accepts, and successfully implements necessary changes in the organization and adapts to meet the new requirements
Willing to accept accountability for own decisions, performance, and behavior
Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a related technical field, plant operation or maintenance.
Demonstrated record of successfully leading/supervising employees in a related field
Knowledge of Human Resources, Labor and Employee Relations

Working Conditions
Normal office environment and/or power plant environment.
Requires operation of a motor vehicle, Texas Driver's License.
Work overtime and non-standard working hours as required
Requires occasional travel outside service area
Requires wearing personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.)
May be required to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials, and chemicals
Requires operation of a personal computer
