Job summary

CMC is seeking a Materials Handler in Durant, OK to log information into the computer system, document weights and descriptions of materials, and accurately assign commodities and locations for materials. You’ll work with accounting and raw materials to resolve scrap discrepancies, divert loads to the rail scale, participate in CMC safety programs, and follow start‑up, shutdown and emergency procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in operations or manufacturing.
• Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); SAP experience a plus.
• Knowledge of different grades of scrap a plus.
• Ability to learn quickly and multitask.
• Demonstrates dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs.
• Ability to work with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces.
• Some overtime will be required.
• Ability to perform heavy manual work; push/pull up to 90 lbs and carry 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Log information into the computer system documenting weight and description of materials in and out bound.
• Accurately assign correct commodities and location for materials.
• Work closely with accounting and raw materials to resolve scrap and ticket discrepancies.
• Divert scrap loads to the rail scale and communicate information during traffic overflow situations.
• Ensure all backhauls are unloaded and accounted for with clear communication to the relieving shift.
• Participates in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively upholds the CMC Safety Culture.
• Work safely to prevent on the job injuries by always following safety rules and regulations including proper wearing of company PPE.
• Troubleshoot work related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with others.
• Understand start up, shutdown, and emergency procedures.
• Responsible for daily housekeeping duties including but not limited to immediate work area
