Job summary

MPI seeks a Director of Operations to lead its large U.S. manufacturing and assembly operation for an automation and robotics business. You will drive manufacturing, purchasing, and parts functions, aiming to increase throughput, improve on-time delivery, and boost profitability.

You will partner with engineering, sales, supply chain, and senior leadership to implement continuous improvement and maintain an engaging culture that develops teams and meets financial objectives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of manufacturing, operations, or plant leadership experience.
• Proven success leading production teams within engineered equipment, automation, robotics, machinery, or industrial manufacturing.
• Experience managing cross-functional operations including manufacturing, procurement, materials, and assembly.
• Strong background improving throughput, productivity, and on-time delivery performance.
• Demonstrated leadership experience developing teams and driving accountability.
• Engineering backgrounds in Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Robotics, Mechatronics, Plastics Engineering, or related disciplines are highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for manufacturing, assembly, purchasing, and parts operations.
• Lead a team of functional managers overseeing approximately 60-70 employees.
• Improve operational efficiency, workflow, and production planning.
• Drive initiatives focused on throughput improvements, capacity expansion, and delivery performance.
• Establish metrics and accountability systems to support operational excellence.
• Partner closely with engineering, sales, supply chain, and senior leadership teams.
• Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives across the operation.
• Ensure production schedules, customer commitments, quality standards, and financial objectives are consistently achieved.
• Support long-term growth initiatives while maintaining a culture focused on employee engagement and team development.
