Role Summary

As a Production Supervisor, you will support daily operations to ensure reliability and consistency on the production floor. You will lead a team to assemble products to quality standards, ensure safety, efficiency, and high-quality customer service, and support manufacturing goals aligned with Wabtec’s mission and values. This role involves leadership during LEAD program rotations and collaboration with other supervisors. The position requires onsite work.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead safety initiatives and create a safety-first culture.
  2. Hire, train, evaluate, and develop manufacturing workers.
  3. Participate in daily GEMBA walks, identify and resolve production issues.
  4. Conduct safety and housekeeping audits regularly.
  5. Review production plans and optimize resource utilization.
  6. Manage staff performance, including communication, training, discipline, and evaluations.
  7. Drive quality and customer satisfaction through reliable product assembly.
  8. Support continuous improvement and Lean activities.
  9. Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
  10. Develop and implement cross-training and skills development programs.
  11. Troubleshoot operational problems and promote teamwork.
  12. Manage time and attendance functions.

Physical Demands & Environment

  • Frequent standing, walking, talking, hearing, and manual handling.
  • Work in an indoor manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, overhead cranes, and forklift traffic. Use PPE as required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent; 3+ years in manufacturing, including 3+ years in supervisory roles.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Proven leadership skills with diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Lean experience (Green Belt preferred).
  • Knowledge of safety, quality, and manufacturing tools and techniques.
  • Basic math, blueprint reading, and computer skills (MS Office, ERP).

Compensation & Benefits
