Job summary

Allegion is seeking a Summer Intern - Operations Leader in Indianapolis, IN to support the operations leadership team by coordinating cross-functional initiatives, analyzing process performance, and driving efficiency improvements to ensure reliable day-to-day operations. You will foster employee relations and engage with multiple teams across manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Strong academic performance with coursework in production processes, quality control, operations strategy, or related subjects preferred.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing principles, lean methodologies, and data analysis is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or equivalent tools.
• Willingness to learn, strong analytical skills, and effective communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Foster employee relations and engagement, supporting team morale and frontline communication.
• Conduct basic safety observations, report hazards, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Communicate issues and status updates to supervisors, engineering, purchasing, and quality teams.
• Track cycle times, downtime reasons, and other performance metrics; maintain dashboards and reports.
• Support continuous improvement activities (Kaizen), map processes, and help implement small experiments.
• Assist with root-cause investigations for recurring defects and document corrective actions.
