Job summary

DuPont’s Salisbury, NC site seeks an Operations Leader to oversee a ~20-person team responsible for safe, reliable, and efficient production of ArmorWall™. The role focuses on short-term troubleshooting, long-term improvements, and cross-functional collaboration with R&D and technology experts.

The successful candidate will drive CAPEX project execution, implement SOPs and safety protocols, and lead Lean/Kaizen activities to optimize capacity, quality, and cost performance.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering (Chemical/Mechanical/Industrial) or related field.
• 3–5 years of professional manufacturing/technical experience.
• Strong team collaboration, problem-solving and data-based decision making.
• Experience with process optimization and cross-functional projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead a ~20-person operations team for safe, reliable plant performance.
• Drive short-term troubleshooting and long-term process improvements.
• Oversee capacity, product quality, reliability of supply, and costs.
• Develop and enforce SOPs, best practices and safety protocols.

DuPont is seeking a Operations Leader for our Salisbury, NC site, which produces ArmorWall™ for the commercial construction business. This facility currently operates on a 2 shift schedule M-F and continues to grow production 30% annually.

The Operations Leader will serve as a key member of the operations support team, leading a team of approximately 20 employees responsible for providing daily technical expertise to enable safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance. This role leads short-term troubleshooting and corrective actions while driving longer-term process improvements and optimization across capacity, product quality, reliability of supply, capital improvements, process technology, and cost performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understands all applicable process technology, equipment and control technology.
• Develop, and ensure adherence to, standard operating procedures, best practices, and safety protocols
• Troubleshoot operating issues to fix quality problems or improve production process.
• Participate in or lead Lean events, Kaizens, 5-Why investigations, and structured problem-solving activities.
• Understanding of the site’s Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures with the ability to implement inthe plant.
• Understand and apply skills and knowledge in Process Control technology to ensure a safe and reliable operation
• Communicates technical information and issues to plant personnel and stakeholders outside of plant.
• Work with R&D and other technology subject matter experts to optimize plant performance.
• Support and/or Lead execution of CAPEX projects, including scope development, planning, engineering, installation, commissioning, start-up, and training.
• Provide off-shift support for continuous operations

Required Qualifications:

• B.S. degree in Engineering in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or related fields.
• 3-5 years professional technical manufacturing experience
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to integrate equipment, process and chemistry issues
• Strong technical, interpersonal, communication, and listening skills
• Results oriented/driven, good problem solving, and organizational skills
• Excellent computer and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work effectively on multiple tasksRequires focus on data-based decision making, initiative,objective prioritization setting, and the drive to achieve results

Preferred Qualifications:

• Lean Six Sigma training (Green Belt, Black Belt)
• Experience using SAP and interacting through HMI’s
