  • Lead a distributed technical team across multiple locations with a primary concentration in Columbia, MD; plan and allocate resources, estimate staffing needs, and coordinate cross-functional technical activities.
  • Identify high-level functional and technical requirements through direct engagement with customers and knowledge of the DoD enterprise architecture.
  • Serve as the senior technical interface to customers; deliver technical demonstrations, lead technical reviews, and represent the program in customer engagements and acquisition milestones.
  • Lead escalation response for complex technical issues affecting kit delivery, customer operations, or program sustainment.
  • Coordinate technical activities across system administration, configuration management, security, supply chain, and service delivery functions; establish and maintain operational processes, standards, and runbooks across the program technical team.
  • Partner with the Program Technical Director on program technical strategy, risk management, and operational planning; drive technical decision-making across the program delivery team.
  • Mentor senior engineers across the program team; contribute to technical career development and program-wide engineering standards.
  • Support business development, proposal, and capture activities with senior technical input.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of hands-on experience in systems engineering, with demonstrated depth across systems architecture (Windows, Linux, ESXi), network security architecture, software development, networking, and virtualization.
  • 5+ years of experience with current defensive cyberspace TTPs and defensive cyber operations within Service Cyber Command elements, DoD, or federal cyber organizations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in systems architecture design, network protocols, infrastructure hardening, and defense-in-depth practices.
  • Working knowledge of defensive cyber tools including Splunk, Elastic, Zeek, Palo Alto, VMware, and similar platforms.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies and management platforms (vCenter, Kubernetes, container deployment).
  • Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Python, scripting) for systems and security operations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing technical teams.
  • Demonstrated experience managing technical solutions for federal government (preferably DoD) valued at $25M or greater.
