Common Laborer

Compensation negotiable based on education and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

• On call duties, emergency trouble calls, preventative maintenance, emergency maintenance, minor signal repairs, construction projects, locates, cabinet installation, set‑up & testing.
• Construct, install, integrate and maintain a wide variety of transportation infrastructure assets and technologies, including guidance signs, traffic signals, dynamic message systems, fiber, radar and cameras.
• Complete and turn in required personal paperwork.
• Maintain a neat and professional appearance.
• Communicate with customers and other contractors.
• Abide by all company safety rules.
• Wear proper personal protective equipment while on the job site and in the yard for lifting operations, including safety‑toed work boots, safety vest, work gloves and hard hat.

Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities

• High school diploma or GED.
• Proficient at troubleshooting and repairs.
• Proficiently read plans and schematic diagrams.
• Perform heavy physical work, often under adverse weather conditions.
• Provide your own transportation to and from work, or be responsible for company‑assigned vehicle when provided, and typically report to work at the job site.
• Communicate effectively with co‑workers, supervisors and the public.
• Maintain an effective working relationship with others.
• Concrete finishing experience.
• Framing to build foundations and pads.
• Teamwork and organization.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations and Training

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Must maintain a valid medical card if you have a CDL driver’s license and be insurable under company policies.

Work Environment

• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to work at heights over 20 feet.
• Must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
