Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is offering an Operations Internship for Summer 2027 in Saint Petersburg, FL. Under close supervision, you will assist with customers on providing transportation and logistics services while gaining exposure to core processes.

You will participate in freight planning, asset utilization, safety and DOT compliance, driver payroll, and logistics analysis, building practical knowledge of trucking operations and employee development.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in good standing at an accredited college or university.
• Must be able to work 20–25 hours per week during the school semester.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
• Junior or Senior level preferred.
• This position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure to basic transportation management principles and supportive tasks.
• Participate in daily operational tasks including freight planning, asset utilization, safety management and DOT compliance.
• Assist with driver payroll, logistics management/analysis, and maintenance coordination.
