Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. is seeking an Operations Internship for Fall 2026 in Elizabeth, NJ.

You will gain exposure to core transportation management principles and participate in daily operational tasks such as freight planning, asset utilization, safety compliance, and driver payroll. The role offers hands-on experience across logistics management, driver supervision, and profit-and-loss awareness within a Fortune 300 company focused on efficiency and customer value.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
• Must be able to work 20-25 hours a week during the school semester.
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and shifting priorities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Willingness to work flexible hours.
• Junior or Senior level preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure and understanding of basic transportation management principles.
• Participate in daily operational tasks including planning of freight; asset utilization; safety management; DOT compliance; driver payroll; logistics management/analysis; driver supervision; P&L management; maintenance coordination.
• Understand industry trends and company initiatives as they relate to driver retention.
• Perform account-specific duties as required by customer.
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
