Job summary

Covia is seeking an Operations Intern to support the Operations Team across Covia locations, including Thompson, OH. The internship runs May 17, 2027 through August 7, 2027 and offers exposure to mining, grinding, flotation, quality control, regulatory compliance, and maintenance activities.

You'll learn safety principles, work with seasoned supervisors, develop analytical and communication skills, and contribute to real projects that benefit operations while building a foundation for a career

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Engineering (mining, mechanical, industrial, chemical, etc.) from an accredited university.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to think logically and communicate ideas clearly.
• Willingness to interact and thrive in a diverse group dynamic.

Responsibilities

• Learn and adhere to Covia safety principles including PPE, MSHA regulations and inspections.
• Work with Mine and Plant Supervisors to understand mining and processing operations.
• Assist Quality Control with data management, sampling and reporting.
• Support Environmental and Maintenance teams on regulatory and maintenance activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
