This 11-week paid internship provides real-world experience with a focus on freight network optimization across multiple divisions. You will learn how Werner’s Optimization team leverages technology and AI to improve cross-modal efficiency, work with tools like Mastery TMS and HopTek suite, and participate in development activities, mentoring, and networking

• Currently pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or related field.
• Interested in gaining experience in logistics, supply chain, business analytics, or customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist Optimization and Dedicated Backhaul Team with freight network management.
• Support billing processes for freight and collaborate with internal teams and customers.
• Ensure booked freight is entered in system and coordinate for on-time pickup/delivery.

The program consists of an 11-week immersion into Werner Enterprises.Internship Overview:* Paid internship that includes dedicated job training and learning opportunities* Located at our Corporate Headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska (some remote and off-site opportunities may be available)* Collaborative, inclusive work environment* Real-world experience* Paid housing/housing assistance may be available Responsibilities:* Work with Optimization and Dedicated Backhaul Team to learn and help manage the freight network across one way and dedicated divisions.* Assist with billing process for all freight managed by the Optimization team, working closely with our internal billing teams, and customers.* Assist Optimization Administrative team with ensuring all booked freight is entered into the system timely and communicating with executing divisions to manage for on time pickup and delivery.* Learn how Werner’s Optimization team leverages technology and AI to drive cross-modal efficiency across Dedicated, One-Way, Logistics, Power Only, and Intermodal operations.* Manage daily workflows using Mastery TMS alongside Hoptek’s suite of tools, including Freight Finder, Commitment Manager, and Load and Mode Optimizer.
