Job summary

CNM Central New Mexico Community College is seeking a Custodian to maintain a clean, safe environment across assigned facilities. The role involves routine custodial tasks to uphold cleanliness and hygiene for students, faculty, CNM staff and community members.

Responsibilities include restroom/classroom cleaning, trash removal, floor care, and responding to requests from the Lead Custodian or M&O Supervisor. OSHA-compliant safety and PPE use are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; prior custodial experience preferred.

• Empty trash and recycling containers.
• Wash window sills, walls, doors and furniture.
• Clean whiteboards and trays.
• Vacuum, sweep and mop hallways, walkways and stairs.
• Perform floor care including stripping, waxing, sealing and buffing; spot clean and shampoo carpets.
• Respond to special cleaning or setup requests from Lead Custodian or M&O Supervisor.
• Respond to emergency spill clean-up requests.
• Report repairs to Lead Custodian or M&O Supervisor.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Follow safety regulations and wear PPE as required.

The role primarily involves performing routine custodial tasks to uphold cleanliness and hygiene standards within the designated area.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, classrooms, office suites, common space, lunch, and break areas.
• Empty all trash and recycling containers.
• Wash window sills, walls, doors, and furniture.
• Clean whiteboards and trays.
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop all hallways, walkways, and stairways.
• Perform break work duties including stripping, waxing, sealing, and buffing floors; spot clean and shampoo carpets.
• Respond to requests for special moving, clean-up, or set-up tasks as assigned by Lead Custodian or M&O Supervisor.
• Respond to emergency spill clean-up requests.
• Report repairs to Lead Custodian or M&O Supervisor.
• Perform other related duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
• Employees are required to comply with safety regulations, procedures, protocols, OSHA standards, and wear personal protective gear if required.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and previous experience preferred.
