ISO New England is the independent system operator responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable flow of electricity in our region and planning for the future of the electric grid. We are at the forefront of New England’s ongoing transition to clean energy.
The Operations Forecast Analyst supports the production load forecast models used by on-watch Forecasters to produce the New England load forecast for all time horizons up to 21 days from the current day. This role is critical in ensuring forecast accuracy by evaluating model performance, troubleshooting issues, retraining models as needed, and recommending fundamental changes to load modelers and external vendors. The analyst also leads initiatives to modernize and enhance forecasting processes, collaborating with project teams to improve software and processes, designing, developing, implementing, testing new tools and methods, and delivering training. Success requires technical expertise, project management skills, and strong interpersonal skills to guide projects from concept to deployment.
